Chembra Peak is one of the highest peaks in the Western Ghats of India, located in the state of Kerala. The trek to Chembra Peak is a popular adventure activity for nature enthusiasts and trekkers. The Chembra Peak is the highest peak in the Wayanad hills , adjoining the Nilgiri Hills and Vellarimala, it is located near the town of Meppadi.<\/p>\n

Hike to chembra Peak was memorable. Its the highest peak in Wayanad at an altitude of 6,890 ft above sea level. There is a perfect heart-shaped lake midway to the Chembra Peak. This lake never dries up even during the summer. And the shape never changes also if there are overgrown grasses. It has Trekking through lush green tea plantations. Beautiful treat to our eyes.<\/div>\n

Itinerary of Hanging Tent Stay Wayanad<\/h2>\n

Accommodation in a 2 or 3 person tree tent, along with a sleeping bag and camping kit, BBQ\/dinner & breakfast, jeep night safari with our naturalist expert for wild animal spotting, guided morning nature walk with bird watching, education on wildlife conservation and leave no trace camping. It\u2019s all about wilderness, wild animal spotting and leave not trace<\/p>\n

3 PM<\/strong><\/p>\n

Check-in at the base camp ( Chembra Peak trekking point )
\nShort briefing on wild camping and what to carry to the camp
\nRisk Waiver Form and handing over of camping kit
\nHike to the Stingray Tribe Camp<\/p>\n

5 PM<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gather on the community platform (giant wood spider)
\nBriefing on
\n– Camp etiquettes and getting to know the place
\n– Safety and exit plans in case of emergency
\n– Way finding to the tree tents in dark (no lights during night as it\u2018s a wild animal corridor)
\nAllocation of tree tents<\/p>\n

6 PM<\/strong><\/p>\n

Collect wood for bonfire
\nGather back at the platform
\nConcept note on leave no trace and Singray Tribe (India\u2019s greenest tree hotel)
\nWildlife orientation followed by a movie projection about wildlife and environmental issues
\nGroup dinner served on platform
\nUnwind and chill until night safari, enjoy the bonfire, take a nap in your cozy tree tent
\n2am (best time for animal spotting)
\nNight safari with our naturalist by off-road jeep for wild animal spotting<\/p>\n

Important part was that this retreat had some inspiring people who proved us that age is just the number and inspite of their knee concern they did this trekk so amazingly that every passing by person was awestruck and kept applauding them for their efforts.
