Valiathura Beach
Valiathura Beach, previously the country’s only port on the south coast of Kerala, is 10 km away from Thiruvananthapuram. This simple fishing port is a beautiful beach, situated near Shankhumugham. As Kochi gained prominence, its importance diminished over time. Valiathura Pier is 703 ft long, and fishermen launch their catamarans from its edge during the monsoons, then jump in and swim to it. The shores are decorated with tall swaying coconut trees and high tides making it the perfect setting to evolve and enjoy the view.
