Fortaleza do Cochim (Emanuel), translated to Fort Immanuel at Cochin is a historic remaining located in the heart of Fort Kochi, alongside the Fort Kochi beach. This fort was originally built in the year 1503 because of the coalition between Cochin Maharaja and the Portuguese. Once a huge fort that acted as a Portuguese bastion, was destroyed by the Dutch and British by the time it was 1806. Now only the remaining of this fort exists reminding its historic significance.
