The seaside town of Thangasseri is a historically prominent tourism destination located near Kollam town. Often referred to as ‘Dutch Quilon’ in many historical documents and fondly called by the British, this place is really a ‘Gold village (translated from “Thanga” which means gold)’ – the locals say. There are a number of forts and churches in Dutch Quilon that are eye-catching in their architecture and magnificent in their atmosphere.
