Archaeological Museum, Thrissur
The famous Archaeological Museum is a beautiful construction that once was home to the Perumpadappu Swaroopam, the erstwhile royal dynasty of Kochi. Today, it houses the finest murals in God’s Own Country. Formerly housed in the Kollengode Palace building, it has now been repositioned to the Shakthan Thampuran Palace. Veerakallu (hero stones), temple models, stone inscriptions and sculptures of figures and weapons, earthen pots, ola grandhangal (manuscripts made on the dry palm leaves), urns, and megaliths are all unique treasures that one can view at this stunning museum.
Visiting Hours: 10:00 AM – 05:00 PM. The museum gets closed on all Mondays and National Holidays.
