Hanging Tent Stay & Wayanad Chembra Peak Trekking
Chembra Peak is one of the highest peaks in the Western Ghats of India, located in the state of Kerala. The trek to Chembra Peak is a popular adventure activity for nature enthusiasts and trekkers. The Chembra Peak is the highest peak in the Wayanad hills , adjoining the Nilgiri Hills and Vellarimala, it is located near the town of Meppadi.
Itinerary of Hanging Tent Stay Wayanad
Accommodation in a 2 or 3 person tree tent, along with a sleeping bag and camping kit, BBQ/dinner & breakfast, jeep night safari with our naturalist expert for wild animal spotting, guided morning nature walk with bird watching, education on wildlife conservation and leave no trace camping. It’s all about wilderness, wild animal spotting and leave not trace
3 PM
Check-in at the base camp ( Chembra Peak trekking point )
Short briefing on wild camping and what to carry to the camp
Risk Waiver Form and handing over of camping kit
Hike to the Stingray Tribe Camp
5 PM
Gather on the community platform (giant wood spider)
Briefing on
– Camp etiquettes and getting to know the place
– Safety and exit plans in case of emergency
– Way finding to the tree tents in dark (no lights during night as it‘s a wild animal corridor)
Allocation of tree tents
6 PM
Collect wood for bonfire
Gather back at the platform
Concept note on leave no trace and Singray Tribe (India’s greenest tree hotel)
Wildlife orientation followed by a movie projection about wildlife and environmental issues
Group dinner served on platform
Unwind and chill until night safari, enjoy the bonfire, take a nap in your cozy tree tent
2am (best time for animal spotting)
Night safari with our naturalist by off-road jeep for wild animal spotting

Wake up tea

Nature hike and bird watching with our naturalist

Hearty, local group breakfast
Explore and unwind yourself in the natural pools of Chembra

Please take enough rest before camping to ensure maximal wild animal spotting at night on safari
and up in the trees!
Important part was that this retreat had some inspiring people who proved us that age is just the number and inspite of their knee concern they did this trekk so amazingly that every passing by person was awestruck and kept applauding them for their efforts. Hats off to my retreat members.I am always so proud of them and feel so blessed.
