Karapuzha Dam
The scenic Karapuzha Dam is one of the counted largest earth dams in India, escorted by the Karapuzha River on either side. With the water level as deep as 158 feet, the dam facilitates boating options for entertainment. Apart from boating, the dam location is suitable for sightseeing as well. Many people including locals and tourists alike visit this location as this manmade-marvel is no less than any natural charisma. The place has a picturesque setting on its premises along with the chirps of birds rejuvenate its visitors almost instantly. And the natural setting of becoming low at dawn makes it the best time to visit the place. Even though this dam was built in 1977, this dam was brought to the spotlight after 2004 when the tourism department renovated the dam’s premises by constructing an aquarium and starting canoeing facilities on the spot. The dam is open throughout the year and is definitely worth a visit.
