Keralam Museum of History and Heritage
It is a museum whose objective is to chronicle the history and culture of Kerala spanning over 3000 years, based on historical and prehistorical shreds of evidence. Near the renowned Napier Museum and Thiruvananthapuram Zoo, it is located in the Park View Mansion. In partnership with Kerala Tourism and the Department of Archaeology, the project promotes archaeological exploration in Kerala. The museum uses technologies such as touchscreen terminals to demonstrate exhibits and multimedia techniques to render documentary videos in order to enable effective content delivery and user interaction.
Major exhibits include:
Grave goods from the Iron Age
Ancient Roman Coinage such as the Roman Dinari (dates back to two millennia)
Malayalam and Sanskrit palm leaf manuscripts
Sculptures and murals from the Pundareekapuram Temple, Kottayam (17th century AD)
Stone tools from the Neolithic period (celts)
A sculpture of Brahma (circa 14th century AD)
Yoga Narasimha Murthy (circa 14th century AD)
Nataraja Sculpture (circa 16th century AD)
