Muneeswaran Kunnu
A romantic and charming hilltop worth a tedious climb- this exactly is what the unsung, yet scenic hilltop of Muneeswaran Kunnu can be defined as. As the name implies, this hilltop has some connection with the Tamil Community. It is believed that the Muneeswaran temple atop the hill was founded by some Tamil workers in the 19th century. As this place is less explored by tourists, one can expect really wild paths leading from the foot of the hill to the top. This peak which is a part of the North division of the Wayanadu district offers awesome aerial views of the mist-covered valleys below. The route to the peak is via the Paalchuram Ghat road. One can reach directly with a 3km travel from Thalapuzha town to the foot of the hill where the trekking begins. Parking is available there. A nominal entry fee may be charged here.
