Museum of Kerala History
The renowned Madhavan Nayar Foundation or the Museum of Kerala History is a distinguished museum in Kerala situated right inside the busy Edappally town in Ernakulam. Although the town is always abuzz, the silence is what strikes the guests here. The gentle breeze that blows through this museum compound brings a sense of Kerala’s history to the ears of visitors. And the sculpture of Sage Parasurama, the person behind Kerala, greets the guests. The museum is famous for the life-size figures that depict the voyage of mankind from the Neolithic to the modern era. Also, the fantastic art gallery that houses hundreds of paintings and sculptures by renowned Indian artists adds value to this epic historical destination. The gallery hosts a light and sound concert for its sightseers, with commentary in both English and Malayalam. There is also a doll museum here that exhibits around 150 dolls that showcase the diverse cultural traditions of India.
