Muzhappilangad beach- the only Drive-in Beach in Kerala- is also the only Asian beach to get listed in the BBC article for Autos. It was on the list of top 6 Drive-In Beaches- and the longest Drive-In Beach of Asia- and is a popular tourist destination that is also a bird watchers’ paradise. Situated parallel to the National Highway 66 that connects Kannur and Thalassery towns, the beach has a drivable shore of a total of 4km which is the actual length of the shores. The beach is a host to many beach festivals of which the major attractions are the driving and other stunts performed by talented youths. A platform for drifting, bike wheeling, paragliding, parasailing, and microlight flights along with water sports, power boating, etc this beach is perfect for adventurous activities hence liked by active travelers. The shores are bordered with big boulders which add scenic beauty to the place and are home to delicious seafood namely Blue mussel. The beach is also home to more than thirty kinds of migratory birds and this season is the best time to be here on the shores.
