Parambikulam Tiger Reserve
Tucked away in the enticing hills of Anamalai and Nelliampathy hills, Parambikulam Tiger Reserve is a must-explore tourism destination that is abound with a plethora of wild beauty that adorns the large reservoir with the island-like, beautifully crafted lands. Boasting the world’s largest and oldest teak tree as well as the first teak plantation managed scientifically in the world, this tract is a plantation turned into a reserved forest. The oldest tree, named “Kannimara” is worshipped by the tribals as an abode of God. Even some poojas are held near the tree as a custom.
