Idukki’s remarkable collection of tourist destinations continues to be enhanced by Pullumedu. On the ascent, one is greeted by the valleys draped in lush grasslands and is accompanied by the splendid Periyar River the entire route. Aside from the natural surroundings, one can also glimpse the Sree Ayyappa Temple at Sabarimala and its Makara Jyothi illuminations. With excellent campsites and trails maintained here, picnickers and hikers will always discover new areas to explore. A Jeep is the only way to reach this area, and just the drive alone is mystical.
Access to Pullumedu is possible only by Jeep as it is part of the restricted forest zone. Permission from authorities such as the Wildlife Preservation Officer, and the Range Officer.
