Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary
Also known as the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary is a major wildlife tourism destination that brings Wayanadu to the frontage of top tourist locations in the state. Situated 20km to the east of Mananthavady, this place is best known for its incredibly rich flora and fauna. One can feel this spectacular location with a 2-hour jeep ride, twice a day here. The rides, especially the early morning ones or the evening ones is sure to get you close encounters with the various birds and animals living in their natural habitat. What stuns the visitors more is the lake nearby where wild inhabitants like herds of elephants, animals like lions, reptiles, and many more come to drink water and play.
Note: Visitors are allowed only in the outer tourist zone. One single jeep ride which accommodates around 7 people at a time will cost 500-800 INR and entrance fee ranging from 100-150 INR
