Thusharagiri
Thusharagiri is the magical hill where two streams originating from western ghats merge to form Chalippuzha River, and then gets split into 3 waterfalls that form a misty spray that casts unknown mesmerism of the wild beauty on the soul of its fellow visitors. Hence the 3 waterfalls namely Eerattumukku, Mazhavil Chattam, and Thumpithullum Para waterfall are going to catch you in the wild. An eco-tourism spot that is also an adventure tourism spot, this place offers the best trekking trails in Kerala, that begin from one of the tallest arch bridges in Kerala, of which the end results are impeccable. The peculiarity of these waterfalls is that they are placed within short distances. One can even hear the roar of the other waterfall nearby.
A major attraction in this area is a 400-year-old tree- that is hollow inside- named Tanni Tree (Terminalia bellirica) which is also known as Thanni Muthassi, Grandmother Thanni, and Thanni Bedda Nut Tree.
Even though one can access this tourist spot any day of the year, strong precaution is required during the monsoon. The misty spray of the waterfall and moisture all around makes this place slippery, hence sightseeing and trekking should be carried out with utter care.
