The small hillock of Panchalimedu is an easily surmountable tourist destination that has its roots dating back to the time of the Pandavas. As per local lore, this site got this name because the Pandavas along with Panchasi once rested here. One can reach the summit by enjoying a slow walk on the rock-laid walkway effortlessly. On the way to the top, one can witness many stone benches as well as some pillared halls (mandapam in Malayalam) and even rest too. Also, the Panchalikulam and Pandava Guha will be there to greet you as you go up on a hike. This place has a major specialty in that it is widely known as a tourist destination that is much suited for differently-abled people. Wheelchair and special restrooms are also there besides the public restrooms there.
