Paramekkavu Bhagavathi Temple
In the proximity to the Vadakkunnathan temple- renowned for the Thrissur Pooram- lies one of the two participants namely Paramekkavu Bhagavathi Temple. Considered as one of the largest Bhagavathi temples of Kerala, this temple has a deity as Devi Vaishnavy- a form of Goddess Durga. During the Thrissur pooram which is a vibrant festival of festivals in which the most massive crowds are seen, Paramekkavu Bhagavathi Temple leads one group of participants and the other group by the Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple. A procession of 15 caparisoned tuckers from Paramekkavu to Vadakkunnathan temple is a major ritual in this festival.
